Recently, an African customer contacted us because he wanted to quickly build a five-a-side football pitch for local football activities. However, he needed more than just football turf. He was looking for a complete solution that could cover the major facilities required for the project.

After understanding his requirements, we developed a customized futsal court solution based on his site dimensions, expected usage and future development plans.

We discussed several important questions with the customer, including the dimensions of the available area, the expected number of players, daily operating hours and whether the venue would be used for professional competitions or local recreational football.

For example, a recreational five-a-side football field may require a different configuration from a venue intended to host regular competitions or organized tournaments.

We therefore recommended a suitable fencing height based on the customer's pitch dimensions and usage requirements.

We also discussed the fencing material, structure, mesh design and upper netting. The customer needed to decide whether the top of the football field should be completely covered with protective netting or whether side fencing would be sufficient.

For a venue expecting frequent football activities, additional overhead netting can help prevent the ball from leaving the playing area and reduce interruptions during matches.

The customer also wanted to provide seating for people watching the games.

Instead of using a standard seating solution, we discussed the appearance, number of seats and whether the seats should include custom branding or a private label.

This is particularly useful for football academies, sports clubs and commercial football facilities that want the venue to have its own identity.

Lighting was another important part of the project.

The height and layout of the poles need to be considered together with the size of the pitch. Proper positioning helps provide more consistent illumination across the playing surface while reducing dark areas and excessive glare.

The playing surface directly affects ball movement, player comfort and the overall football experience. Therefore, we did not simply recommend an ordinary landscape artificial grass product.

Based on the customer's requirements, we recommended FIFA-certified football turf designed for professional football applications.
